  • Full compliance review against your Construction Certificate

  • Final OC issued quickly, if compliant

  • Guidance if additional documentation is required

Who Needs an Occupation Certificate?

  • New buildings:
Once construction is complete, an OC is required to confirm the building is safe to occupy.

  • Renovated properties:
If major renovations have been completed, an OC ensures the work complies with current regulations.

  • Change of use:
If you are changing the use of the building (e.g., converting a house to a commercial space), an Occupation Certificate ensures compliance with the regulations for the new use.

  • Compliance after building defects:
If previous occupancy was halted due to defects or non-compliance, a new Occupation Certificate may be required once the issues are addressed.

  • The final building plans.

  • Compliance certificates for specific trades or works.

  • Inspection reports from various stages of the construction process.

Step 3: Complete the Application Form
Fill out the Occupation Certificate application form. This form can be obtained directly from Multicert or your local council. Once completed, submit the form along with all required documents.

Step 4: Submit the Application
Submit your completed application to Multicert. We will review the documentation, verify compliance, and schedule any additional inspections if needed. Once everything is in order, Multicert will issue your Occupation Certificate, allowing you to legally occupy the building.
